Before You Book/Cancellation Policy

PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING:

All of Ocean Sands Vacation Rentals are located in quiet neighborhoods. Please review our policies prior to booking to ensure they fit your group. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to hosting you.

1) ZERO TOLERANCE OF EXCESSIVE NOISE: The City of San Diego has a vacation rental ordinance with a zero tolerance for neighborhood disturbances. We enforce a ZeroTolerance Policy for noise disturbances, over occupancy or house parties. All conversation and music must be brought inside at 10:00 PM. Pool and Hot Tub usage must also stop at 10 pm. Violations can result in eviction. Primary guest is responsible for the actions of all members in the group.

2) MINIMUM AGE: The Primary guest must be at least 25 years of age. Any person under 25 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. A group of adults booking must all be over 25.

3) E-SIGN: By signing the e-agreement, guest agrees to abide by all house policies.

4) CREDIT CARD: The name on the credit card must match the Primary guest name on the rental agreement.

5) NO INCONVENIENCE REFUND: Agency is not responsible due to unforeseen construction, power or internet outages or acts of nature that could impact the stay and will not refund rent.

6) UNAVAILABILITY: If a home becomes unavailable due to maintenance or sale, Ocean Sands will relocate guest to a similar home or process a refund in full.

7) CANCELLATION POLICY: All cancellations must be done in writing. Guests who cancel at least 30 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount they've paid, minus the credit card fees. Guests that cancel between 15 and 30 days before check-in, will get back 50% of rent paid along with any fees paid, minus the credit card fees. Guests that cancel under 15 days before check-in, will get back their fees minus the credit card charge. Rent is non-refundable. The damage waiver is not refundable.

8) CHECK-IN: Check-in time is 4:00 PM. Early check-in is allowed only with prior approval.

9) CHECK OUT: Check out time is 10:00 AM. Late check-outs must be approved in advance. Late check out is not available Memorial Day through Labor Day. A late charge will be accessed if housekeeping is delayed.

10) HOME FURNISHINGS: Amenities are continually updated, photos may not reflect an updated furnishing i.e. Couch. Replacement items will be similar in function.

11) AMENITIES: Each home is stocked with beach towels, one bath, hand and washcloth per maximum occupancy, coffee filters, salt and pepper, paper towels, garbage bags, sponge, hand soap, dishwasher detergent (if applicable), laundry detergent and starter bathroom amenities including toilet paper. Kitchens are stocked with cookware and dishware for all of your cooking needs. Please contact us with specific questions.

12) SMOKING: Smoking in any form is NOT allowed at any of our homes. If smoking is detected it can result in eviction. Odor, burns or damage caused by smoking will be the responsibility of the guest.

13) PETS: Pets are allowed at most of our properties with prior approval. Pet fees do apply. Please contact us for any questions. A photo of your pet will need to be submitted prior to approval. Guests are to pick up after their pets and additional fees will apply if our staff is required to pick up anything left behind at your departure.

14) SMOKE DETECTORS: All homes are equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. It is the responsibility of the guest to alert us should a battery need replacing. Please confirm your detectors are working.

15) AIR CONDITIONING: San Diego has a coastal climate and not all homes are equipped with air conditioning. Fans are provided. Please double check the listing prior to booking.

16) HOT TUBS/POOLS: Hot tubs are included in the nightly rental. Additional pool fees apply, please check with the office for rates. A three night minimum is required for pool heat.

17) SAFETY: Guests use the home and amenities at their own risks. Pool and spa safety is to be observed at all times. Guest agrees to assume all responsibility to make all occupants aware of risks and for the consequences of those risks and to be fully and solely responsible for any accidents that may occur. Guest agrees to waive any claim whatsoever against the homeowner or Agency for accidents or claims.

18) INDEMNIFACATION: Licensee agrees to release and indemnify Ocean Sands and Owner from and against all liability should anyone be injured upon the premises during the term of occupancy, resulting from any cause whatsoever, except in the case of personal injury caused by willful gross negligence on the part of the Owner or Ocean Sands.

19) RELATIONSHIP WITH OWNERS OF THE PROPERTY: It is hereby disclosed that Ocean Sands has a contractual relationship with the Owners as the Owner's agent. This contractual relationship employs Ocean Sands to forward information to the owner, act according to Owner’s directions and treat all parties honestly, fairly and in good faith.

20: GOVERNING LAW: The terms and conditions stated herein will be interpreted by and governed under the laws of the State of California and any action arising out of this agreement shall be litigated in the city of San Diego.
